Fitness and Health and Zombies and Craft and Stuff

Yep. Well it’s early on a Saturday morning here and catchy titles are no where to be found.  I must say though that since starting this whole health and fitness journey thing I have been getting up a lot earlier and yes I do acknowledge it loud and clear, eating healthier and exercising has improved my energy levels dramatically… (from a previous skeptic or more like blasphemer).

It’s day #80 of my journey today. The before Q would have given up if I had loss less than 8kg by now and would undoubtedly not be awake at this time of the day or if she was awake, she would definitely not be happy about it. My weight loss chart is going a bit wobbly.  At the moment, I am still doing everything I should do to lose, but my trend lines are merging and that was making me grumpy! I lost a dramatic 1.5kg one week, then gained an equally dramatic 0.9kg :( and then lost another 100g, which brings me to a current total loss of 5.5kg. This means I reached my 5kg milestone and I also lost 5% of my starting weight.  So despite the grumpy I am aware that I have made a significant amount of positive changes to my life and since I have been at this since early September, it’s also quite possible that it is entirely sustainable.

I have gone to the gym, done zombie training or other exercises for 9 days out of the last 14 and I have pretty much been in pain the whole time.  The pain is due to what is referred to as DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) so it’s all good pain that generally lessens the next time you exercise.  I have made some exciting improvements in zombie training – managed to run 2minutes without stopping on the road for the first time; hit 5km in a mission for the first time; beat my previous pb 1km time by 18seconds with the current pb being 8:45 (mins:seconds).  The application I use alongside Zombies, Run 5k Training is Endomondo and it has a little voice interruption at the end of each km you go telling you how what the last 1km time is. Zombies run also gives you little achievement badges like a lot of console and computer games do too, the ones I am currently most proud of are my 12hr and ultra marathon achievements.

My last mission was highly amusing, but I would be pretty uptight if I accidentally read a spoiler about the story line while perusing someone’s blog or site, so suffice to say, it has re-ignited my craft addiction and I do intend to do at least some sort of mad craft dash some time over this weekend.
