It get’s really busy before Christmas doesn’t it? I’ve been a bit less occupied with both sewing and miniatures the last few days, so am going to give you a bit of a pictorial of recently and not so recently acquired stuff that will be used in either playscale roomboxes or in either Little Top Cottage or my future build Europa by Artesania Latina House which are both 1:12 scale.
I purchased these quite recently at the Adelaide Craft and Quilt Show, where the Tiddlywinks Australian Reseller had a stand. The Keys and Steampunk Globe will be added to the Steampunk Roombox somehow and I will use the dress forms and the frame in one of the 1:12 scale dollhouses.
I have several more of the photo corners, but thought just showing a few would give you an idea of them, the frames were purchased independently at the Adelaide Craft and Quilt fair, while the corners were purchased from my local scrapbooking store. I think all of these items would fit in well with both of the dollhouses.
The brads I purchased from Spotlight (Australia’s equivalent to JoAnn’s), the birds on the right came from an exhibitor at the Adelaide Craft and Quilt Show and the Larger bird came from one my local discount variety stores. The larger bird will definitely need to belong to a playscale roombox and I am not sure but the little birds may not be little enough either.
These two pieces of furniture were $3 each (that is cheap in Australia) from a discount variety store, they also had a teeny paint brush and some poster paints intended to let young girls paint their own furniture. They are probably smaller than 1:12 scale since QBerry is only 4ft tall in a one inch scale house. I would like to re-purpose them but do not have any specific ideas yet.
I found these chairs at the same place that I found the paint yourself doll furniture, they came in a set of 4 with a dinner set and a dining table . I quite like the chairs and think they would work well with a paint and an upholstered seat. The wine rack was a freebie gift a friend received when she purchased something for her dollies online and passed on to me since she is not really interested in doll houses.
I found the treadle sewing machine at a Miniaturist Show here in Adelaide (it’s a teeny show – pardon the pun), most things were too traditional for my tastes. Then I read in gumtree (Australia’s version of Craigslist) that a local doll house wholesaler was no longer selling doll house items and had a sale, I didn’t see a lot I wanted there, but I did buy 3 cats (and have decided I don’t like them) the Kitchen Cannisters and Utensil Set with wall shelf as well as the little tool kit. Everything is glued into place though. This kind of bothers me….
For now, that is all I am showing. I also have a large-ish collection of Re-ment miniatures which I have to go through to identify what is play scale and what is one inch scale. Right now I am going to have a nap, I need one *yawn*
Good Night, Wherever you Are.
