I’m not so sure if I ever posted this image of the block I made for Brenda in WA, it is from Bonnie Hunter’s Instructions on her Boxy Stars Quilt.
This block was late (and so was June’s :o) but it was for my May Block Swap Adventure Partner.
I received my June Block Swap from my Swap Partner Sunny from MD on Friday (though when I commented on her blog about it I said, Sunday,… must have Sun on the brain!! – Well something on the brain anyway :P) and I also received my July Block from my Swap Partner Karen in OR yesterday, and inspired by all the blocks I completed Karen’s block tonight!
So without further ado… I Sneak Peeked this in my last post (I think!). This is the block I sent to Sunny for the June Swap.
This is one of the many fine patterns available on Marcia Hohn’s Quilters Cache site (slightly modified). It is called a Stamp Basket Block, which I royally stuffed up and it ended up way way too small. So I cheated and added ‘sashing’ to make it the right size 🙁 . Sunny likes it anyway (phew!) I am not sure where most of the fabrics are from, but the flower in the centre that I cut out is from Lumiere de Noel by French General for Moda.
This is what I received from Sunny – I am pretty sure the fabric is from Sunkissed by Sweetwater for Moda. It’s so pretty I love, love love it!
Karen in OR was way ahead of me this month (but I’m not late this time I promise!) and here is my July Block complete with Ricky Timm’s Star Points. Thank you!
I completed Karen’s block tonight and here is a sneak peek of hers, it was so very much fun to make, but tough, and I hope that Karen can cope with my seams!
In other news, you know how I made a complete fool of myself by drooling out of the corner of my mouth, and stalking Janelle Wind at Inspired Stitches?! Well she wrote about me on her blog *faints* [I swear it’s completely harmless stalking Janelle! ]
I’m still stitching away on Block 2 and Block 3 of Vignette in Stitches Mystery Quilt, think I could get them both done over the weekend. Then maybe I can try to figure out what is going on with my sewing machine, which just got serviced, then worked like a dream and started misbehaving again tonight?!
It’s after 9pm, so it’s passed (yes I know, terribly sad!) my bed time.
Good Night stitchers wherever you are!
